Two Olathe, Kansas, residents land in the Benton County Jail after a routine traffic stop uncovers a large quantity of illegal drugs.
A probable cause statement filed by the Benton County Sheriff’s Office alleges that 32-year-old Carlos Hernandez was driving erratically and had stopped twice in short order claiming he did so his dog could go to the bathroom.
During the stop it was discovered that Hernandez was wanted on a warrant out of Platte County with a subsequent search of the vehicle allegedly uncovering meth, cocaine, LSD, various pills and paraphernalia.
Hernandez…who claimed it was all his…and a passenger, 49-year-old Angela Barr, were both taken into custody and formally charged with second-degree trafficking, several felony counts of possession and a misdemeanor for possession of paraphernalia. Bond for both was set at $100,000.
