Two Injured In Miller County Car Crash Monday

Two lake area residents are seriously injured in a one car accident shortly before midnight Monday night on U.S. 52 just west of Admire Road in Miller County.

The highway patrol says 22-year-old Austin Oberreither-Newcomb, of Eldon, was driving at a high rate of speed when the car ran off the road and started skidding before hitting a tree.

Oberreither-Newcomb and his passenger, 19-year-old Maggie Stephens of Lake Ozark, were both seriously hurt.

Newcomb was flown to University Hospital while Stephens was taken to Lake Regional Hospital.

Oberreither-Newcomb is also expected to be formally charged with two counts of DWI and other driving-related issues.
