Transportation Commission STIP To Fund 40 Projects Across The Lake Area

Almost 40 lake area projects are identified on the Highways and Transportation Commission’s Statewide Transportation Improvement Program, or STIP, that was approved Wednesday for Fiscal Years 2025-2029.

The STIP is a listing of transportation projects considered as high priorities by the various state and regional planning agencies.

In the lake area, there are 12 projects in the STIP for Camden County, six in Miller County, five in Morgan County and eight in Benton County. There are also several unidentified projects planned for around the Central District.

The STIP makes available $14.6 billion of federal and state revenue for all modes of transportation with $10.7 billion of it earmarked for road and bridge construction contractor awards.

The 25-29 STIP is the largest to date and includes additional funding from General Revenue with a big chunk of it going to improvements along interstates 70 and 44.
