Tourism numbers continue to climb across the Lake Area, and many are apparently coming from those traveling in an RV.

Sales of mid-range motor-homes up more than 90 percent in June, compared to last year.

Gary Threlfall sells RVs nationwide, he tells CBS News “An RV is a socially distanced vehicle that allows for a socially distanced vacation.”

Residents tell CBS News the attraction for buying is “We can control the environment we’re living in and not have worry if something was sanitized or not.”

With kids have out of school and people working from home so long, residents say the open road is more appealing than ever.

When the Lake Area began it’s re-opening phases, KRMS News reported that area shops like A-Ok RV’s were seeing “record sales” and were having a hard time keeping new RV’s in stock.
