STIP Numbers Announced For Lake Projects 2025-2029

At first glance, one might not think the highways and transportation commission’s Statewide Transportation Improvement Program for Fiscal-2025-2029 is very lake area friendly.

However, according to Central District Area Engineer Danny Roeger, that’s not necessarily the case with a number of lake area projects included in the funding.

“We’re administering about $30 million this year with some of the included projects or included funds from general revenue. Next year we’re anticipating spending about $70 or so, almost $80 million potentially here at Lake of the Ozarks in road and bridge improvement.”

The overall STIP makes available $14.6 billion of federal and state revenue for all modes of transportation with $10.7 billion of it earmarked for road and bridge construction contractor awards.

In the lake area, there are 39 projects being funded in the STIP…12 in Camden County, six in Miller County, five in Morgan County and eight in Benton County.

The STIP is a listing of transportation projects considered as high priorities by the various state and regional planning agencies.
