Local News Tuesday, February 4th, 2020

A delay in the trial for an Eldon-area man accused of the 2019 murder of a Columbia man who visited the lake, reportedly, to purchase some arrowheads. A pre-trial conference in the case against Christopher English had been scheduled for Monday in Laclede County, on a change of venue from Miller County, but was continued to later this year…now on April 6th. English is charged with first-degree murder, armed criminal action and abandonment of a corpse in the killing of Aaron Brantley. A jury trial is now scheduled to begin on November 2nd of this year. Two others, Daniel Cole and William Lucas, were also charged in connection to the case. Cole is scheduled to next appear for a jury trial starting April 6th on a felony charge of abandoning a corpse while Lucas was facing an amended misdemeanor charge for abandoning a corpse. That case, against Lucas, no longer appears on public record.
