Pavement Collapse Along North Highway-5 in Gravois Mills Is Not a Sinkhole

Motorists in the area of northbound highway-5 and Valley Road in Gravois Mills is being given a heads up about a partial pavement collapse.

The highway patrol and MoDOT responded to the scene Monday and discovered the small area that collapsed is because of a culvert issue. A metal plate was put over the affected area until the issue can be fixed.

The Gravois Fire District and emergency management officials confirm that the pavement collapse is NOT because of a sinkhole.
