Ozarks Amphitheater Turns To County Commission For Parking Issue Help As Growth Continues

With the Ozarks Amphitheater becoming a premiere entertainment venue at Lake of the Ozarks, also comes an obvious growing pain…specifically parking and increased traffic flow coming and going to the different shows.

The parking and traffic issues were recently put before the Camden County Commission by amphitheater Director of Business Development Tom Abbett…“We used the Nelson lot, we used every bit of expansion parking lot that we added over the last two years.
The County lot and it’s window washing lot, it was full. We are leasing Tyler Bishop’s lot from him to still help to control our destiny or our traffic flow.”

The two issues came to a head after the June 28th comedy show which drew record-breaking attendance for a single event at the amphitheater.

Among the possible solutions suggested was creating a turning lane for ingress and egress, and possibly closing the road to traffic for a period of time before and after the shows.

Traffic was backed up for miles on the shoulders of highway and business-5 with hundreds arriving at least a little late for the opening performer.
