Numerous Accidents Occur As Drizzle Turns Into Ice On Area Roadways

Freezing drizzle and black ice turned Lake Area roadways into skating rinks overnight Sunday.

The Highway Patrol reported numerous accidents and rollover crashes along several roadways.

That includes a crash in Miller County where 43-year-old Myra Logan of Crocker suffered serious injuries, after her 2005 Ford Mustang lost control on Route U near Route EE, causing it to crash into a field and overturn.

Her passenger, 63-year-old Kathy Talmage also suffered moderate injuries in that crash.

A Warsaw woman also received moderate injuries when her 2022 Nissan struck a ditch after losing control on US 65.

30-year-old Casey King was taken to Bothwell Regional for treatment.

Troopers say at one point, US 50…US 63…Interstate 44 and several other roads were shut down due to spinoffs and crashes from the icy conditions.
