A new way to treat cervical cancer is being hailed as a game-changer.
It could be the biggest advance against cervical cancer in a generation and it uses existing medications and treatments just in a different way.
The standard treatment for cervical cancer has the patient undergoing chemotherapy and radiation at the same time.
But in their 10 year international study, the British researchers found a short course of chemo before that started reduced a woman’s risk of dying from the disease by 40%.
And the chances of the cancer returning within five years fell by a third.
