MODOT Workers From Camdenton Assisted In Recovery Efforts Following Rolla Tornado

While the lake area escaped most of the brunt of the severe storms on Friday, those in Rolla and surrounding areas of Phelps County were hit harder by the weather.

In Rolla an EF-2 Tornado tore through town, starting out near the Doolittle area and ended just across Interstate 44.

MODOT Jumping into action in the aftermath, sending several crews….including a Lake Area group…straight to the scene.

“Just want to let folks know that we did have local crews here, in Camdenton, that responded to the event, so we sent crews down there to assist with the cleanup” says MoDOT Central District Area Engineer Danny Roeger.

Also hit hard to the east were St. Louis County, the Arnold area and southeastern Missouri.

Reports say there were at least 19 confirmed tornadoes across Missouri on Friday with the death toll, as of Monday, increased to 13.
