MODOT Advises Safe Travels While Work Continues On Winter Cleanup

The winter storm may have moved eastward out of the lake area but plummeting temperatures and the type of storm delivered by Mother Nature are still prompting the call to stay put if possible.

“Only venture out if you absolutely have to…I understand people have to get to work…but hopefully employers are making the right decisions…keeping people home and keeping people safe.”

MoDOT Central District Area Engineer Danny Roeger also says the storm which started as ice and then had snow fall on top presented a worst case scenario that’s going to take some time and help with some sunshine before we will get anywhere close to back to normal.

It’s also advised to keep an eye on MoDOT’s Traveler Information Map to stay up-to-date on roadway conditions.
