The Missouri’s Department of Revenue is out with some fun facts about the personalized license plate applications it rejected in 2022.
Department rules state that vanity plate requests will be rejected that contain letters, numbers or combos of letters and numbers that are “obscene, profane, patently offensive or contemptuous of a racial or ethnic group, offensive to good taste or decency, and so on and so on.
In a news release it says last year that criteria led to the rejection of 471 applications in the state.
Several Jefferson City news outlets used public records requests to get more details and reports are some of those rejected were an application for “MURDER” but with the letter E replaced by the number 3.
Another rejection was for the word “VOYEUR.”
And one that just may have come from the Lake Area that was nixed was for “DAM GIRL.”
Another popular but rejected theme of rejected plate applications amounted to expletives directed at President Biden.
