More than 1.4 million Missourians making a $3.1 billion impact lifted the state to a lofty ranking according to a release from the Missouri Community Service Commission.
The commission released the figures covering the time period from September-2020 to September-2021.
Further according to the release, more than another 2.4 million residents pitched in to informally help their neighbors despite the ongoing pandemic.
All totaled, more than 124.7 million people informally helped their neighbors with another 60.7 million volunteering with an organization across the country contributing 4.1 billion hours of service and making an economic impact of nearly $123-billion.
The research and the numbers were compiled by AmeriCorps and the U.S. Census Bureau.
