When voters in the Mid-County Fire District go to the ballot boxes in a little less than two weeks, they will decide the fate of a proposed operating tax levy increase.
It’s a change from the August election which saw only a bond issue making it to the ballot.
That issue received slim majority voter approval but failed to pass because it fell short of the required 4/7th needed.
The 15-cent levy increase question failed to appear on the August ballot due to a clerical error.
That question is now on the November 5th ballot and, if passed, is earmarked to hire more firefighters and increase wages of current firefighters.
Mid-County Fire officials welcome any questions about the issue by contacting the main station house in Camdenton from 8am to 4pm Monday through Friday.
