Man Drowns After Driving Into Pond In Johnson County

A 25-year-old from Riverdale, Illinois, is dead after driving his vehicle into a pond and drowning in Johnson County.

The highway patrol report says it happened early Sunday morning at the Fairfield Inn Suites at U-S-50 and Business-13.

Edward Taylor exited the vehicle and attempted to swim to shore but he didn’t make it.

He was pronounced dead at the scene.
