Record numbers of people are coming to the Lake Area, and the City of Lake Ozark is becoming ground zero.

The city is concerned about the growing expense that comes with being such a popular location.

Assistant City Administrator Harrison Fry tells KRMS News more help is needed from event organizers so the Lake Ozark Police Department doesn’t have to pay out so much money in normal pay and overtime for officers.

Fry says the city hopes to have a plan by the end of the year to help minimize the expense of events like Bikefest and the Magic Dragon car show.
