Kayaker Who Drowned On Stockton Lake Identified – Two Others Still Missing

We now know the name of an 18-year-old from South Lyon, Michigan, who died after capsizing late Wednesday on Stockton Lake.

The highway patrol says Melodie Roberts apparently encountered rough water conditions while riding into Crabtree Cove….she was not wearing a safety device.

Two other Kayakers who were with Roberts are still missing.

The Patrol says they are still searching a “broad area” where the kayaks were found adrift and that Troopers, along with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, are using special scanning equipment in an effort to locate the missing kayakers.
