A now defunct car dealership formerly of Lebanon is the target of a judgement obtained by the Missouri Attorney General’s office.
A-G Andrew Bailey says the $27-thousand judgement against Variety Auto’s, L-L-C, represented an attempt to recoup losses for Missourians who purchased cars and never received certificates of title or promised warranty work.
The dealership had been owned by Marcus Hill who is currently in the Laclede County Jail on 13 felony counts of unlawful business practices brought by the A-G’s office.
Attorney General Bailey’s office is reminding consumers who believe they have been scammed by a car dealer, or any other business, to file a complaint with his office.
Complaints can be submitted online by going to the Attorney General’s website, http://ago.mo.gov or by calling the toll-free Consumer Protection Hotline…that number is 1-800-392-8222.
