Governor Kehoe Joins DESE In Working To Help School Districts Impacted By Tornadoes

Governor Mike Kehoe and the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education are taking action to support impacted school districts from the storms last Friday.

Early assessments are showing those storm-impacted districts sustaining significant damage to buildings including power loss, major structural damage and temporary or potential long-term displacement of students and staff.

DESE is also working to ensure impacted districts are not financially penalized under the foundation formula for days they are unable to operate.

Nearly two-dozen school districts on that list of storm-impacted districts.
