Former COVID Trailer With Lake Regional Now Getting Use With Sunrise Beach Fire District

Special Operations Trailer 1299 is now officially in service.

Sunrise Beach Fire Chief Joe Laplant says the climate-controlled trailer is equipped with all the bells and whistles…and was originally purchased by the Missouri Hospital Association using a Homeland Security grant after 9-11 and stationed at Lake Regional.

The trailer has now been transferred and will be upgraded with more equipment already owned by the fire district to be used for command and communications, as well as rehab during large scale incidents and training.

Representing Lake Regional, Makinley McCaffery was on hand for the official transfer of the unit to Chief Laplant and the fire district.
