It might sound like a broken record but, if you really don’t have to go out today, just stay home and be safe.
Camden County Sheriff Chris Edgar says, if you do have to hit the roads, at least be prepared with a plan just in case.
“The main thing is just make sure you have a blanket you let notify somebody that where you’re going. So if you don’t make it to that location and just drive safe, be drive slow.”
Edgar, who hit the roads himself this morning, also says the roads may seem safe in some locations but chances are it won’t last for very long.
“And the problem is, I mean, they get them cleared and then just after, you know, 30 minutes, they’re completely covered again. And there’s still a snowpack on it, which with the temperature so cold, it’s just going to be ice underneath.”
It’s also suggested before you head out that you refer to MoDOT’s Traveler Information Map for conditions of the main roadways along your route.
