It was billed as the “Boots and Badges” Blood Drive in Osage…first responders representing the police and fire departments showed up on Monday at the Harper Chapel United Methodist Church to give the in search of bragging rights for the next year.
For some who donated, however, it wasn’t just about the bragging rights….“But she got a cool T shirt here, and I probably gonna get a Ding dong or a hole or something, so no, we…I like giving blood, and and I hope it helps somebody.”
A representative from the Community Blood Center of the Ozarks says the competition was pretty much going back and forth…“Fire department was ahead. And suddenly, we had more police officers come in….So then they were ahead.”
Heading into yesterday’s effort, the badges were holding the traveling trophy.
Final numbers and whether the trophy stays with the badges or if the boots took it away have not been reported.
