If Ameren Missouri gets its way, residential customers could soon be digging a little deeper to pay for electric.
The Missouri Public Service Commission has announced a series of public hearings to allow for comments on the rate-hike case in which Ameren is asking for an increase of about 15.49 percent, or $446-million, which translates to about 15.77 percent, or $17.45 per month, for the average residential customer.
The public hearing schedule begins on January 21st in Cape Girardeau with other hearings to be held in St. Charles, St. Louis, Jefferson City and Sunset Hills.
