Bernskoetter Bill Takes Next Step Towards The Missouri House

A Senate Bill modifying provisions relating to local taxing jurisdictions, including the City of Sunrise Beach, appears on the formal calendar of bills for perfection.

Sponsored by Senator Mike Bernskoetter, the bill would allow Sunrise Beach…if approved by voters…to impose a sales tax for the purposes of public safety.

The bill would also add counties bordering Lake of the Ozarks to a list of counties authorized to establish theater, cultural arts and entertainment districts.

Bernskoetter’s bill was passed out of committee earlier this month before being put on the formal calendar for perfection…one of the final steps before being referred to the Missouri House for its consideration.
