A 35-year-old homeless man from Rolla wanted on a failure to appear warrant on a felony stealing charge now faces several more charges after being taken into custody this week in Phelps County.
Rolla Police Chief Sean Fagan says a deputy on patrol recognized Benjamin Tolliver who was walking along South Bishop Avenue. Tolliver then took off on foot into a field before being after a brief chase.
Tolliver is now also charged with unlawful possession and use of a weapon, stealing, possession of a controlled substance and resisting arrest.
Tolliver was booked into the Phelps County Jail and was being held on a $50,000 bond.
