Eldon Man Sentenced For Child Pornography Possession

An Eldon man is sentenced in federal court on Monday for possession of child pornography.

The U.S. Attorney’s Office of the Western District of Missouri says 59-year-old David Arabie will spend 20 years in federal prison without parole followed by 25 years of supervised release.

The court also found Arabie in breach of his plea deal back in 2023 when he filed a motion on Monday to withdraw that plea and recanted previous statements made under oath during the plea hearing.

During that plea, Arabie…a registered sex offender with prior convictions for statutory sodomy and criminal sexual abuse of children…admitted to possessing more than 600 images of child sexual abuse material on his computer.

U.S. District Judge Brian C. Wimes presided over the sentencing.
