Investigation Underway Following Death Of Inmate In Jefferson City

An autopsy has been ordered to determine the cause of death of an inmate at the Algoa Correctional Center in Jefferson City.

The Missouri Department of Corrections says 38-year-old Gerald Haynes was pronounced dead this past Friday afternoon.

Haynes had been serving a four-year sentence for harassment out of New Madrid County.
