Despite what many are calling some challenging times lately when it comes to finding the fish at Lake of the Ozarks, more than 50 boats hit the water about a week-and-a-half ago to participate in the Osage Beach Police Officer Carson Tournament.

We had a number of, you know, first responders and police officers that were there. The the police chief was there. A lot of them fished and maybe some of them fished for the first time ever.”

Bassing Bob…a regular on KRMS’s Saturday morning “Outdoor Show”…says 56 boats entered the benefit for the family of fallen officer Phylicia Carson with the duo of Justin Swast and Andy Newcomb taking top honors with a catch of 17.67.

Jim and Jake Dill placed second, also bringing in the big bass of the tournament, followed by Jamie Enyard and Nathan Dieteker in third-place.

About $8,000 were raised for the cause.
