Despite unseasonable temperatures and the current spell of rain and storms in the lake area, it’s just a matter of time before we start talking about winter weather.
It’s also the reason all this week is Winter Weather Preparedness Week across the lake area and statewide.
The State Emergency Management Agency and the National Weather Service have designated a different message each day to remind us about how to stay safe during the winter.
Monday, November 4th, focuses on winter weather terminology while Tuesday focuses on ice safety; Wednesday will focus on snow safety; Thursday looks at extreme cold, hypothermia and frostbite; and the week comes to a close on Friday which will focus on planning for snow, ice and cold.
More Winter weather tips are available on the National Weather Service’s website.
