Winter Operations Test A Success For MODOT

MoDOT was out and about on Thursday, testing the snowplows.

Central District Area Engineer Danny Roeger says MoDOT crews, many of them being new to winter operations, were going through the motions to get ready for when Mother Nature delivers that first winter wonderland.

“You will see our mode out plows across the state geared up with our RV beds, our plows attached and we’re going to be out practicing gearing up. We’ve made significant improvements when it comes to hiring and getting folks on board and trained for for winter OPS. But unfortunately that also means there’s 700 new operators plus that are not experienced.”

Roeger says he was grateful to all of those who gave a little extra patience while passing the plows.
