School Of The Osage Warns Teachers About Phishing Scams

School of the Osage is putting out word to district patrons about a reported phishing scam which is targeting staff members via SMS text messages.

The post on social media explains that the messages appear to be from a trusted source, such as Superintendent Doctor Laura Nelson, asking you to click on a link to provide personal information or to verify account details.

The messages appear to be coming from a 405 area code in Oklahoma which, according to the school district, is not from anyone in the district.

It’s recommended, if you receive one of the messages, not to click on any links you are not familiar with and always verify the sender’s contact information. And, if still in doubt, contact the School of the Osage I-T department.
