Kansas Man Drowns On Stockton Lake Over Holiday Weekend

The water -patrol division of the highway patrol now reports one fatality on the water over the July 4^th counting period.

The patrol says it happened early Saturday evening on Stockton Lake near the dam when a 60-year-old from Shawnee, Kansas, dove into the water near a boat before resurfacing and then going back under the water and failing to resurface again…he was pronounced dead at the scene.

The drowning is the 17^th of the year statewide so far reported by the highway patrol.
