Millions Of Dollars Are Being Made Available For Area Governments That Promote Energy Conservation

Nearly $2.4-million in energy grants are being made available to local Missouri governments for projects that promote energy savings, energy conservation or emissions reductions.

The Department of Natural Resources’ Division of Energy is accepting applications through July 30^th for subgrants under the Energy Efficiency and Conservation Block Grant.

The grants are being offered to communities that were not eligible for formula funding from the U.S. Department of Energy. Applicants can request between $100,000 and $500,000 for eligible projects.

The Missouri Department of Natural Resources’ Division of Energy is now accepting applications for subgrants under the Energy Efficiency and Conservation Block Grant (EECBG), with applications being accepted through July 30. Nearly $2.4 million is available to local governments for projects that will promote energy savings, energy conservation or emissions reductions in communities that were not eligible for formula EECBG funding from the U.S. Department of Energy. Applicants may request between $100,000 and $500,000 for eligible projects.

“Programs like the EECBG contribute to Missouri’s energy security,” said Emily Wilbur, director of the department’s Division of Energy. “We are excited to help more Missouri communities make investments that increase their energy efficiency and reduce consumption.”
