The City of Osage Beach could be just a couple days away from officially naming its new administrator.
Mayor Michael Harmison says the process started with narrowing down the list of candidates from 39 that applied for the position.
“A lot of people….a lot of Qualified people applied for it. I reviewed many of them, and selected a few to be interviewed. But I did include our longest serving alderman, Alderman Rucker, and our board President Alderman Ross…in the process of interviewing. And between those, we got it down to a selected 4.”
When the dust settled, Harmison appointed Jeff Hooker, from Camdenton, to fill the position being vacated by longtime Administrator Jeana Woods who’s pursuing her own C-P-A business.
Mr. Hooker holds a master’s degree in Public Safety Administration and has been the City Administrator for Camdenton since January 2020, when previous Administrator Jeff Hancock left that role.
Barring any surprises, Hooker is to be confirmed during Thursday’s board of aldermen meeting in Osage Beach.
His first day on the job is set for July 15th.
