A routine traffic stop for one vehicle following another too closely comes to an end with, at least, two people taken into custody on drug charges in Miller County.
Courthouse records indicate that it happened shortly before 2:00 Friday afternoon on U-S 54 at Lakeland Road. During the stop, consent was given for a search of one passenger who was found to have suspected methamphetamine on him while another passenger was allegedly observed dropping a pouch also containing meth onto the vehicle floorboard.
Both were taken into custody and are identified as 42-year-old Brandon Mitchell of Eldon who has, apparently, been released after posting a $100-thousand bond and 65-year-old Ricky Mitchell of Olean who, as of Monday, remained in the Miller County Jail on a $100-thousand bond.
Both are charged with first-degree trafficking drugs or attempt to over the statutory amount.
