Law enforcement within the Village of Four Seasons is set to take a hit at the end of the year following the announcement that the Property Owner’s Association, or P-O-A, will not renew an Enhanced Law Enforcement Services contract with the Camden County Sheriff’s Office.

In a letter addressed to Sheriff Tony Helms from P-O-A President Mary Bustin, the P-O-A says, instead, it plans to increase its on-site Owners Services staff to address issues specific to the association’s Rules and Regulations which are not the duties of law enforcement.

The sheriff’s office will still provide law enforcement to the village but the likely result could mean only half the number of deputies assigned to Four Seasons and longer response times for emergencies and law-enforcement responsibilities.

The correspondence to the sheriff’s office also goes on to say that it’s been a good 12 year relationship and that reserves are being set aside by the P-O-A for potential opportunities that may arise to contract out with the sheriff’s office to provide services on an as-needed basis.
