Vehicle Defect Causes Pumper Truck To Catch Fire In Laclede County

A vehicle defect is being blamed for a pumper truck catching on fire and burning the driver Friday morning in Laclede County.

The highway patrol says it happened at Hemlock Road and Route-Double-Y about two-and-a-half miles northeast of Lebanon.

49-year-old Michael Ebner, of Lebanon, was the driver and suffered moderate injuries.

He was treated at a nearby hospital.
