Lake Area Chamber Awards Numerous Scholarships To Area Students

Six lake area students are on the receiving ends of a new scholarship program being spearheaded by the Lake Area Chamber of Commerce.

“What we were able to do. Through the generous contributions from our chamber members, we were able to provide six $1,000 scholarships to area students who plan on going and attending a higher education of some sort.”

Chamber Director Morgan Crainshaw says the criteria for applying for one of the scholarships require being employed by a chamber member business, having a minimum 2.75 GPA and proof of acceptance to an accredited two or four year college or university.

Two of the scholarships were awarded to students in each of the Camdenton, School of the Osage and Eldon districts.

Crainshaw hopes that the program can expand and help out even more lake area students next year.
