The Osage Beach Fire District continues to take public comments in advance of the district’s board of directors expected adoption of an ordinance to ban open-flame cooking devices on decks of multi-family residences.
“The board voted to approve or adopt the International Fire Code as it’s written, and that is that there are no openflame cooking devices allowed on multifamily decks. And there are some exceptions about non combustibles that are protected by a sprinkler, that those would be okay.”
Chief Paul Berardi also says a final decision will not be made until after a 90-day public comment period which will come to a close in early July.
Open meetings are still scheduled for June 7th and July 5th at the district’s main station house on Bluff Drive to take more comments on the issue or by email to info@obfire.net.
The board of directors is then expected to act on the issue during its regular meeting on July 18th.
