If there had been any questions about how long the Macks Creek Park would be available for public use, those questions have apparently been answered after the Camden County Commission, recently, agreed with the park board to a 99-year lease agreement.
“We’re going to try to do Donations and get some grants….is about all I know of it right now. We have another meeting on the 16th of May, and we’re going to try and get our 5013C and do some things. Just baby steps for now.”
Park Board member Jerry Palmer also says the redevelopment of the park will provide a big boost to the community while serving as a gathering place for many types of activities.
The meeting, next week on the 16th, begins at 6:00 at the park.
In the meantime, plans are to continue maintaining the park and doing what can be done until more funding is available.
“We’re going to keep mowing it for now…and try to get some new playground equiptment.”
