Missouri Moves Towards Making I-70 3 Lanes Across Mid-Missouri

I-70 could be expanded into three lanes sometime in the near future.

The Missouri Budget Committee approved the Senate’s proposed $2.8 billion budget to be used “for all expenditures associated with the planning, designing, constructing, reconstructing, rehabilitating, and repairing three lanes in each direction on I-70.”

Funding for the interstate project was contained within House Bill 4.

And was sponsored by Republican Representative Cody Smith (R-District 163) who is also chair of the House Budget Committee.
